The Scots Kirk Paris, the only Church of Scotland congregation in France, has been in  central Paris for over 150 years, and is housed in a modern building just a two-minute walk from the Champs-Elysées.

Today, we are looking to appoint on a 3-year contract a part-time associate minister (0.6 FTE of the Church of Scotland stipend, 21 hours per week) who will build on this enduring legacy while introducing fresh perspectives. The successful applicant will be employed on a local French employment contract; the position requires a good command of French (B2 level) to foster effective local engagement.

Weekly worship at 11am unites an average attendance of 20-30, with a membership roll of roughly 80 people that includes long-term residents, temporary students and professionals, and many visitors who consider SKP “their church.”

The church is poised for growth in outreach and engagement, involving young people, reaching non-regular attendees, and solidifying our financial footing. The ideal minister will possess strong people skills, be tech savvy, and have a clear vision for connecting timeless faith with modern life. We are eager to expand our reach in a vibrant, culturally diverse European city.

This represents a unique opportunity for an energetic, visionary minister to build on a solid foundation and expand the church’s impact in Paris and beyond. SKP is in a deferred linkage with the Scots International Church, Rotterdam and has voted to depart from the Church of Scotland’s traditional stance on same-sex relationships.

Informal enquiries should be sent to the Interim Moderator, Rev. Laurence Twaddle": Laurence.twaddle@gmail.com

If you would like to apply, please send a CV, cover letter, link to online or recorded services and any additional information you think relevant to the Clerk of the Nominating Committee at:
